# Quick start
## Download
- Clone this repo git clone `https://github.com/design-sparx/mantine-analytics-dashboard.git`
- [Download from GitHub](https://github.com/design-sparx/mantine-analytics-dashboard/archive/refs/heads/main.zip)
## Build tools
You'll need to install Node.js.
Once Node.js is installed, run pnpm install to install the rest of the template's dependencies. All dependencies will be
downloaded to the node_modules directory.
```bash copy
pnpm install
```
Now you're ready to modify the source files and generate new files. To automatically detect file changes and start a
local webserver at http://localhost:3000, run the following command.
```bash copy
pnpm dev
```
Compile, optimize, minify and uglify all source files to build/
```bash copy
pnpm build
```
## Mock Data System
This template includes a comprehensive mock data system using Next.js API routes. All data is served from `public/mocks/*.json` files through API endpoints in `src/app/api/`.
### Using Mock APIs
```typescript
import { useFetch } from '@mantine/hooks';
import { IApiResponse } from '@/types/api-response';
function MyComponent() {
const { data, loading, error, refetch } = useFetch>('/api/products');
if (loading) return ;
if (error) return ;
return (
{data?.data?.map(product => (
))}
);
}
```
### Creating New Mock Data
1. **Add JSON file** to `public/mocks/YourData.json`
2. **Create API route** in `src/app/api/your-endpoint/route.ts`:
```typescript
import { NextRequest, NextResponse } from 'next/server';
import fs from 'fs';
import path from 'path';
export async function GET(request: NextRequest) {
const filePath = path.join(process.cwd(), 'public', 'mocks', 'YourData.json');
const data = JSON.parse(fs.readFileSync(filePath, 'utf8'));
return NextResponse.json({
succeeded: true,
data,
errors: [],
message: 'Data retrieved successfully',
});
}
```
3. **Use in components** with `useFetch('/api/your-endpoint')`
### Available API Endpoints
- `/api/products` - Product catalog
- `/api/invoices` - Invoice management
- `/api/projects` - Project tracking
- `/api/orders` - Order management
- `/api/sales` - Sales analytics
- `/api/stats` - Dashboard statistics
- `/api/traffic` - Traffic analytics
- `/api/tasks` - Task/Kanban board
- `/api/chat` - Chat messages
- `/api/profile` - User profile

# π Mock API System
This template features a comprehensive mock API system for realistic development without a backend.
## β‘ Quick Start
```typescript
// Use Mantine's useFetch hook to fetch data from mock API
import { useFetch } from '@mantine/hooks';
function MyComponent() {
const { data, loading, error } = useFetch('/api/invoices');
if (loading) return ;
if (error) return ;
return ;
}
```
## π― Key Features
- **π¦ Mock Data:** JSON files in `public/mocks/` for easy customization
- **π£οΈ API Routes:** Next.js API routes in `src/app/api/` serving mock data
- **π Authentication:** NextAuth with mock credentials (demo@example.com / demo123)
- **π¨ Theme System:** Live customizer with color schemes, layouts, and persistence
- **π± Pre-built Modules:** Email, Chat, Projects, Invoices, Kanban, Calendar, and more
## ποΈ System Overview
```
public/mocks/ # Mock JSON data files
βββ Invoices.json
βββ Projects.json
βββ Products.json
βββ ...
src/app/api/ # Next.js API routes
βββ invoices/
βββ projects/
βββ products/
βββ ...
```
## π Demo Authentication
Mock users for testing:
- **Admin:** demo@example.com / demo123
- **User:** jane@example.com / demo123
Authentication is handled by NextAuth with JWT tokens. See [CLAUDE.md](./CLAUDE.md) for implementation details.
Mock write endpoints (POST/PUT/DELETE under `/api`) are unauthenticated by design. They change only an in-memory copy of the fixtures and reset on restart, so the demo cannot alter the files in `public/mocks`. Enforcing auth is required before wiring these routes to a real database.
## π Complete Documentation
- **π [CLAUDE.md](./CLAUDE.md)** - Complete development guide, mock API usage, and architecture overview
## π Development Workflow
1. **Modify Mock Data:** Edit JSON files in `public/mocks/`
2. **Create API Routes:** Add endpoints in `src/app/api/`
3. **Use in Components:** Fetch data with `useFetch` from `@mantine/hooks`
4. **Customize Theme:** Use the built-in theme customizer in the app
## β¨ Benefits
- **Zero Backend Required:** Start developing immediately with mock data
- **Realistic Experience:** API routes mimic real backend behavior
- **Easy Migration:** Simple to swap mock APIs for real endpoints later
- **Type Safety:** Full TypeScript support throughout
- **Developer Friendly:** Clean, documented code with best practices
