# Engine extension examples

[http-engines](./http-engines) is an independent Host plugin that contributes one
OCR engine and one image-understanding engine through the public npm SDK. It has
no Reader UI and does not create another service registry.

Copy the example into your own package and adapt its endpoint protocol. See
[engine extensions](../docs/ENGINE_EXTENSIONS.md) for the contracts and lifecycle.
