# Privacy Policy — Fantasy Baseball Savant Edge **Last updated:** May 4, 2026 This privacy policy describes how the **Fantasy Baseball Savant Edge** browser extension (“Extension”) handles information when you use it. The Extension is developed by the maintainer(s) of this project (“we”, “us”). We do not operate the ESPN or MLB websites; this policy covers only the Extension. ## What the Extension does The Extension works on **ESPN Fantasy Baseball** pages. It helps show **Baseball Savant–style and related MLB metrics** for the player you are viewing, using public ESPN and MLB data sources. ## Information the Extension accesses ### ESPN Fantasy Baseball pages (content scripts) The Extension runs only on the ESPN Fantasy Baseball URLs matched by the Extension’s manifest (see the Chrome Web Store listing). It reads parts of the page as needed to detect which player you are viewing and to display metrics in the ESPN interface. ### Network requests (`webRequest`) To know which player is active, the Extension may: - Observe **completed** requests to ESPN-related hosts and inspect **only the request URL** to find ESPN athlete identifiers (for example, paths containing `/athletes/` followed by digits), **only when your active tab is on ESPN Fantasy Baseball**. - For certain ESPN Fantasy API requests that load a **player card**, inspect **only** the **`x-fantasy-filter` request header** so the Extension can resolve that player to Savant/MLB data. The Extension does **not** use `webRequest` to read full response bodies for tracking or advertising. ### Data stored on your device (`chrome.storage`) The Extension may store **locally** on your device: - The ESPN **athlete identifier** for the player you were last viewing in context of the feature, - The resolved **player display name** (as shown by ESPN for that athlete), - A **cached copy** of resolved Savant/MLB-related data used to render the UI. This data stays on your device unless you remove it (see below). It is **not** uploaded to servers operated by the Extension developer for analytics or tracking. ### Requests to third-party APIs The Extension requests **public** data from domains such as **ESPN**, **Baseball Savant** (`baseballsavant.mlb.com`), and **MLB Stats API** (`statsapi.mlb.com`) as needed to load statistics. Those services have their own privacy practices; this policy does not govern ESPN or MLB. ## What we do not do - We do **not** sell your personal information. - We do **not** use the Extension to build a profile of you for advertising. - We do **not** receive a copy of your ESPN credentials or passwords (do not share those in reviews or email). - The Extension is **not** designed to collect your name, email address, or payment information for us. Player names shown are **professional athletes’ names** as part of fantasy/statistics content, not your identity as a user. ## Your choices - You can **remove locally cached Extension data** using the Extension’s **clear cache** control from the Extension popup, where available. - You can **disable or uninstall** the Extension at any time in your browser’s extension settings. ## Children The Extension is intended for a general audience interested in fantasy baseball statistics. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. ## Changes We may update this policy when the Extension changes. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. ## Contact If you have questions about this policy or the Extension, contact: **rally9sports@gmail.com**
