Asya dharmasya saṁrakṣaṇe phalam iti smāhuḥ praṁco maharṣayaḥ.

gaṇyate pāṁsavo bhūmer gaṇyante vṛṣṭi-viṁdavaḥ. na gaṇyate vidhātrāpi dharma-saṁrakṣaṇe phalaṁ. bahubhir vasudhā dattā rājabhiḥsagarādibhiḥ. yasya yasya yadā bhūmis tasya tasya tadā phalaṁ.

Ata evāha rāmabhadraḥ.

sāmānyo 'yaṁ dharma-setur nṛpāṇāṁ kāle kāle pālanīyo bhavadbhiḥ. sarvān etān bhāvinaḥ pārthiveṁdrān rūbhūyo bhūyo yācate rāmabhadraḥ. mad-vaṁśajāḥ para-mahīpati-vaṁśajā vā pāpād apeta-manaso bhuvi bhāvi-bhūpāḥ ye pālayaṁti mama dharmam imaṁ samagraṁ tebhyo mayā viracito 'ñjalir eṣa mūrdhni. nāsti bhūmi-samaṁ dānaṁ nāsti rājñaḥ samo guruḥ. nāsti satya-samo dharmo nāsti dāna-samo nidhiḥ. Agniṣṭoma-prabhṛtibhir iṣṭvā yajñaiḥ sa-dakṣiṇaiḥ. na tat phalam avāpnoti bhūmi-dānād yad aśnute.

Apaharataḥ samartasyāpy upekṣakasya tu Eva viparītaṁ phalam āhuḥ.

gām ekāṁ ratnikām ekāṁ bhūmer apy ekam aṁgulam. haran narakam āpnoti yāvad—ā-bhūta-saṁplavaṁ. dātā daśānugṛhnṇāti daśa dahaṁti tathākṣipan. pūrva-dattāṁ haran bhūmiṁ narakāyopagacchati. na dadāti pralitiśrutaṁ. dattaṁ vāharet tu yaḥ. tau ca dvau vāruṇaiḥ pāśais tapyete mṛtyu-śāsanāt. vindhyāṭavīṣv a-toyāsu śuṣka-koṭara-v-śāyinaḥ. kṛṣṇa-sarṇaḥ prajāyaṁte vrahma-bhūmy-apahārakāḥ. pataṁty aśrūṇi rudatāṁ dīnānām avasīdatāṁ. vrāhmaṇānāṁ hate kṣetre haṁti traipuruṣaṁ kulaṁ. sva-dattāṁ para-dattāṁ vā yo hareta vasuṁdharāṁ. ṣaṣṭi-rvarṣa-sahasrāṇi viṣṭhaāyāṁ jāyate kṛmiḥ.
