This is said to be a copy of, and to cancel, an old document engraved on a loose stone now become useless. It records an endowment of 8 mā of land after purchasing it free of all taxes from the sabhā of Tirukkōḍikā alias Kaṇṇamaṅgalam, by Māśēṉaṉ Mādaṉ of Śiṟukāṭṭūr in Mērkkā-nāḍu, to provide for the supply of 5 pots of water (thrice ?) every day by the temple servants from the river Kāviri for the sacred bath of the god. A kaḻañju of gold was also separately endowed for the purchase of a (mud) pot of one tūṇi capacity every month with the interest thereon.
