This inscription records the construction of a well called MārppiḍuguMāṟpidugu was also the surname of the Telugu-Chōḻa king Puṇyakumāra (Ep. Rep. for 1936, p. 56).-peruṅkiṇaṟu at Teṉṉūr in Tiruveḷḷaṟai by Kambaṉ Araiyaṉ, the younger brother of Viśayanalluḻāṉ of Ālambākkam, in the 4th year of Dantivarman. The well is designed in the form of a svastikā and it is reached by a flight of steps from each of the four directions.
