It is stated in this record of the 15th year that Kaṭakan alias Nīlagaṅgaraiyaṉ assigned the taxes on the village of Śōmaṅgalam, except arippāḍikāval, for repairs to the gōpura of the temple and for offerings to the god Aruḷāḷap-Perumāḷ who was ‘pleased to stand’ at Kāñchīpuram, in Eyiṟ-kōṭṭam which was a district of Jayaṅgoṇḍaśōḻa-maṇḍalam. The village Śōmaṅgalam may be identified with the village of the same name in the Sriperumbudur taluk of the Chingleput district.
