Mātavi, the wife of Kāṭakati Araiyar, after renovating this glorious temple, having a front hall erected, renovating the monastery pāḻi, and having a glorious temple of Yakṣa Bhaṭṭāri erected, had one big bell fed ūṭṭuvittāḷThat is, "gave one big bell." given iṭṭa to this paḷḷi.

The term pāḻi is polysemic. Several of its meanings, according to the MTL could apply here: temple, hermitage; cave, mountain cavern; sleeping place for human beings; small tank; flight of steps leading into a tank. notes: Pāḻi is a term, known in all the Jaina Literature, and means a ‘temple’ or sometimes ‘monastery’. According to , this means here "cavern."

The term paḷḷi appears to be used here in the sense of the entire Jaina cultic place.
