To the koṭukkappiḷḷais koṭukkappiḷḷaikaḷ at the service of Nantippōttaraiyar:

"We, the ūrārs of Uḻalūr, according to paṭi the makaḷmai, after having made a request to the lord perumāṉaṭikaḷukku, we have given with koṇṭu all immunities."

As per the above mēlālum, the koṭukkappiḷḷais:

"The feet of he who protects this donation are on our heads literally: tufts."

At the order paṇi-y-āl of the koṭukkappiḷḷais, this is what Arituṭṭaṉ, the guard kāppāṉ of the gem-treasury māṇikka-p-paṇṭāram and guard of the body of the Siṁhala king [OR: the Siṁhala body-guard from] ciṅkaḷa-mey-kāppaṉ, after coming, had made.

makaḷmai: i.e. makaṇmai or makaṉmai, a tax? I.e. what is given is a tax? according to sonship? Cf. piḷḷai = "son" of NP?
