Vāṇaṉ, the son of the general Kōṭaṉ Mēṭṭiṇaṉ, fell when he came to besiege kai koṇṭuLiterally: "seizing, surrounding". Maṇikkal in Vēṇāṭu, alias Iḷaṅkuṉṟi in Vēṇāṭu.
