This is the stone of Tāḷaccāmi, the son of Vaḷiyappūṟār, the servant of Poṉṉarampaṉār, he who fell when Poṉṉarampaṉār, the nephew of the royal Bāṇa king, went ceṉṟu *ṟala-p-puñciThis phrase designates either the place of the fight or a complement to the action expressed by ceṉṟu (puñci, "having gathered") or both. against Kantaviṇṇaṉār, the nephew of the royal Bāṇa king.

Poṉṉarampaṉār and Kantaviṇṇaṉār are mentioned in several other inscriptions (IP 282, 283, 285), on the basis of which the present inscription is interpreted and its missing text supplied.
