<p>Prosperity! Fortune!</p>
<p>Seventh year of Dantivarmar.<note>Sanskrit Dantivarman.</note></p>
<p>Writ <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>eḻuttu</foreign></supplied><!--check English meaning of "writ"--> of the members of the <foreign>peruṅkuṟi</foreign> assembly.</p>
<p>We have given them after selling them <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>viṟ·ṟuk kuṭut·tōm</foreign></supplied> five <foreign>pāṭakam</foreign>s that we have allotted so that they be for a tank south of the eastern division of Parameśvaravati, to Svāmikumāracaturvvedisomayājiyār of Muṭumpai, so that he digs the tank and raises its bunds.</p>
<p>For this <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>itaṉukku</foreign></supplied> we have received in full <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>aṟakkoṇṭōm</foreign></supplied> the price <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>poruṭcilavu</foreign><note>Literally: the expenses for the object.</note></supplied>.</p>
<p>Having said that <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>eṉṟu</foreign></supplied> we have got <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>koṇṭōm</foreign></supplied> for the price <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vilaikku</foreign></supplied> nothing different <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>allātatu</foreign></supplied> from what is common <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>sāmānyam</foreign></supplied> with the assembly <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>sabhai-y-ōṭṭai</foreign></supplied>, they are not those who obtain <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>perātārāṉār</foreign></supplied> to enjoy <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>anubhavikka</foreign></supplied> <supplied reason="subaudible">this</supplied> especially <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>viśeṣam</foreign></supplied> themselves <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tāmum</foreign></supplied> and their lineage <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>santati</foreign></supplied>.</p>
<p>The feet of those who protect this <foreign>dharma</foreign> which is <supplied reason="subaudible">named</supplied> Svāmikumārakuṭṭam are on our heads.</p>

We translate <foreign>eḻuttu</foreign> differently in its two occurrences, as it designate the "signature" or the "writ" of the assembly (<foreign>sabhā</foreign>, line 1), but also the "writing", "engraving" or "text composed by" Parameśvara, the "scribe" (line 6).
