When Cākāṭāc Ciṟṟaṉ, who resides <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>irunta vāḷum</foreign></supplied> <supplied reason="subaudible">in</supplied> Eḻumāttūr in Koṅkam<note>That is, Koṅkanāṭu.</note> seized buffaloes <supplied reason="subaudible">in</supplied> Puḷiyūr in Mīkoṉṟaināṭu,
Cākāṭāc Ciṟṟaṉ fell <supplied reason="subaudible">when</supplied> running <supplied reason="subaudible">for</supplied> battle, fighting in Maṇikkalavaṭavūr in Mēlvēṇāṭu <supplied reason="subaudible">and</supplied> liberating buffalo cattle.

<p>The record is not clear about the connexion of both actions of Cākāṭac Ciṟṟaṉ, the first in Puḷiyūr in Mīkoṉṟaināṭu and the second in Maṇikkalavaṭavūr in Mēlvēṇāṭu. <bibl><ptr target="bib:Mahalingam1988_01"/></bibl> understands that he first fought at Maṇikkalavaṭavūr and then died at Puḷiyūr.</p>
