This single verse is also engraved on the door-post on the south side of thegopura , and records the date of the coronation of Aḻakaṉ Civala-vēḷ. It took place on Monday, the 20th of Cittirai of the year Raktākṣi, Śaka 1486. This day corresponded with the 6thtithi of the bright half of that month, thenakṣatra being Punarvasu. The king is the well known Ativīrarāma Pāṇḍya of literary fame.
