Some more lines are possibly missing at the beginning of the inscription. vaiy·yātaṉa This is probably to be understood as vaittaṉa ("that which were given") or vaittēṉ ("I gave").

In Tirupputtūr, a brahmadeya in the Kōḻuvūrkkūṟṟam, the old gold coins, full and undiminished niṟai kuṟaiyā, that l, Tattaṉ Māṟaṉ, lord of Iṭaiyāru, versed in the Vedas and the Vedāṅgas vēti-c-caṭaṅkavi, Oloccaṉṟu, son of the lord of Maṇalūr, I have given for lighting one perpetual lamp for the lord perumāṉaṭikaḷ of the glorious Taḷi in this village are 15 fifteenThe number is written twice (as digits and in letters) to avoid confusion..

So that there be ākaLine 24. one coin kācu among the above-mentioned coins for lighting two guarlands / rows of lamps, inside uḷḷāl the temple, at the time of vicākam at the time his birthday ivaṉ tiṅkaḷThe referent of ivaṉ appears to be the donor who speaks however in the first person in this sentence., and so that there be ākaLine 26., with the monthly interest tiṅkaṭ poli of the remaining fourteen coins, the lighting of a glorious lamp I, Tattaṉ Māṟaṉ have given these coins in the hands of the members of the assembly of Tirrupputtūr.
