	<p>Hail! Prosperity! With his arms which resembled two mountains, <supplied reason="subaudible">and between</supplied>which the goddess of prosperity permanently rested and shone, and with <supplied reason="subaudible">his</supplied> sword as <supplied reason="subaudible">only</supplied>helps, <supplied reason="subaudible">the king</supplied> overcame the treachery of <supplied reason="subaudible">his</supplied> enemies; carried off many herds of elephants at Vayirāgaram <supplied reason="explanation">Vajrākara</supplied>; and was pleased to levy tribute <supplied reason="subaudible">which</supplied> illuminated <supplied reason="subaudible">all</supplied> directions from the king of Dhārā at the rich<note>3:134-1</note> Śakkarakōṭṭam <supplied reason="explanation">Cakrakōṭṭa</supplied>.<supplied reason="subaudible">He</supplied> gently raised, without wearying <supplied reason="subaudible">her</supplied> in the least, the lotus-like goddess of the earth residing in the region of the rising of the sun,<note>3:134-2</note>——just as <supplied reason="subaudible">the god</supplied> Tirumāl <supplied reason="explanation">Viṣṇu</supplied>, having assumed the form of the primeval boar, had raised <supplied reason="subaudible">the earth</supplied> on the day when <supplied reason="subaudible">she</supplied> was submerged in the ocean <supplied reason="subaudible">by the demon Hiraṇyākṣa</supplied>,——and seated <supplied reason="subaudible">her</supplied> under the shade of his parasol, <supplied reason="subaudible">where she</supplied> experienced delight. <supplied reason="subaudible">He</supplied> made the wheel <supplied reason="subaudible">of his authority</supplied> and the tiger <supplied reason="subaudible">-banner</supplied> go in every direction and established <supplied reason="subaudible">his</supplied> fame and justice in every country. While valour, liberality, pride and compassion, as <supplied reason="subaudible">his</supplied> intimate relatives, were resplendent on the undivided<note>3:134-3</note> earth, he took his seat <supplied reason="subaudible">on the throne</supplied> with <supplied reason="subaudible">the goddess of</supplied>victory and put on by right the jewelled crown of <supplied reason="subaudible">his</supplied> family. While the rulers of the earth bore his feet <supplied reason="subaudible">on their heads</supplied>, <supplied reason="subaudible">he</supplied> wielded the sceptre in every <supplied reason="subaudible">quarter of the</supplied>beautiful continent of the <foreign>nāval</foreign> <supplied reason="subaudible">tree</supplied>.<note>3:134-4</note></p>
	<p>In the second year <supplied reason="subaudible">of the reign</supplied> of this king Rājakēsarivarman, <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> the lordSrī-Rājēndra-Śōḻadēva,——the general <supplied reason="subaudible">sēnāpati</supplied> Rājarājaṉ-Paranr̥parākshasanār, <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> Vīra-Śōḻa-Iḷaṅgōvēḷār, the headman of [Naḍ]ār in Tiraimūr-nāḍu,<supplied reason="subaudible">a subdivision</supplied> of Uyyakkoṇḍār-vaḷanāḍu, <supplied reason="subaudible">a district</supplied> of Śōḻa-maṇḍalam, deposited——for the expenses required for anointing <supplied reason="subaudible">the idol of</supplied> Kārāṇai-Viḍaṅgadēvar in the temple of the god of Tiruvoṟṟiyūr in Puḻal-nāḍu, <supplied reason="subaudible">a subdivision</supplied> of Puḻaṟkōṭṭam,<supplied reason="subaudible">a district</supplied> of Jayaṅgoṇḍa-Śōḻa-maṇḍalam,——in the treasury of this god two hundred and forty good<note>3:134-5</note> <foreign>kācu</foreign>s current at the time. After these two hundred and forty <foreign>kācu</foreign>s had been deposited in the treasury of this god, <supplied reason="subaudible">the following</supplied> deed of sale of land was drawn up in writing against <supplied reason="subaudible">the receipt of</supplied> these <foreign>kācu</foreign>s by us, the assembly of Maṇali, <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> Siṁhaviṣṇu-caturvedimaṅgalam,<note>3:134-6</note> a <foreign>dēvadāna</foreign> of this <supplied reason="subaudible">temple</supplied> in Puḻal-nāḍu, <supplied reason="subaudible">a subdivision</supplied> of Puḻaṟkōṭṭam, and by us, the villagers of Āmbilavāyil and Igaṇaiyūrin the same <foreign>nāṭu</foreign>, of Vēḻaśāṟṟu in Tuḍarmuṉṉi-nāḍu, <supplied reason="subaudible">a subdivision</supplied> of Puliyūrkōṭṭam, and of Pirayapākkam in [E]ḻumūr-nāḍu. <gap reason="lost" quantity="9" unit="character"/></p>
