<p n="2-9">So that there be <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>āka</foreign></supplied>, for the Mahādeva, Lord of the Vālīśvara <supplied reason="subaudible">temple</supplied> in Naraciṅkamaṇkalam, east of the Cittiramēkam tank,

<item>one quarter <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kāl</foreign></supplied> lamp that Nāṭṭaṭiyaṉ, son of Ātipucaṅkaceṭṭi, a merchant <supplied reason="subaudible">from</supplied> Tiruvaṇṇāmalai, <supplied reason="subaudible">on</supplied> the northern bank of the Peṇṇai <supplied reason="subaudible">river</supplied> <supplied reason="subaudible">in</supplied> the Vāṇakappāṭi, gave <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vaitta</foreign></supplied>, and</item>
<item>one quarter lamp that the shepherd Cāttakuṭṭi Vīraṉ gave <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vaicca</foreign></supplied>,</item>

the great undying and unaging goats given <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vaicca</foreign></supplied> for half a lamp <supplied reason="subaudible">are</supplied> fourty-five and a half<note>Or "fourty-five for the half lamp"? But, since the lamp is divided into quarters, a goat could as well be divided into halves.</note>.

<p n="9-10">These <supplied reason="subaudible">are under</supplied> the protection of the Paṉmāheśvaras.</p>
<p n="10-11">These half lamps should burn in day time.</p>
<p n="11-13">He who think/does harm/evil <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tīṅku</foreign></supplied> to/about these goats obtains a sin made between the Ganges and Kumari.</p>
