Prosperity! <supplied reason="subaudible">It is</supplied> the year 18 <supplied reason="subaudible">of the reign</supplied> of <supplied reason="subaudible">the king</supplied> Tiripuvaṉaccakkaravattikaḷ <supplied reason="explanation">emperor over the three worlds</supplied> śrī-Kulōttuṅkacōḻatēvar. I, Kalitēvaṉ, <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> Cokkapperumāḷ<hi rend="italic">alias</hi>Muraiyātarāyaṉ, the son of Mātēvar, gave as <foreign>tiruppaḷḷi eḻuccipuṟam</foreign><note>i.e., provision for the service of waking up.</note> for the god Tiruvaṇṇāmalai uṭaiya nāyaṉār, Mērāṉpaḷḷi, situated in Cāliyūr-paṟṟu on the eastern side of the Muraicūr-nāṭu with all the lands within its four boundaries where stones marked with trident symbol were put, to last as long as the moon and the sun endure, by engraving <supplied reason="subaudible">the document</supplied> on the stone. If any one took away <foreign>oru mācciṉam</foreign> <supplied reason="explanation">an iota</supplied> of this gift, he would be considered to have committed the sin of one who had killed a tawny cow on the bank of the Gaṅgā.
