            Year 11th of the emperor, the glorious king Kulottuṅga Cōḻa <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> the king Rājakesarivarman,

            This is the manner in which
            we, the great men of the great assembly of Śrīrājamahentracaturvedi maṅgalam, which is a <foreign>brahmadeya</foreign> in Kāntāranāṭu, within Nittavinōtavaḷanāṭu,
            
            on this day, which coincides with Āyiliyam star, a Sunday, the 15th day of the dark fortnight of the month of Kaṟkaṭaka
            
            having blowed the conch <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>dhanmi ceytu</foreign></supplied>, having gathered a big assembly and sit, and having made a
            resolution <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vyavasthai paṇṇi</foreign></supplied> on the bank of the tank <gap reason="lost"/>,

            have given lands, having made them tax-free <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>iraiyili ceytu</foreign></supplied>, <supplied reason="subaudible">to</supplied>
            Śrī Mummuṭi Cōḻa, god of the Viṣṇu temple <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> the glorious Western temple in our village.

        <p n="10-12">
            During the month of Āṉi, on the 2nd year <supplied reason="subaudible">of this king</supplied>, while the Right-hand and Left-hand communities brought down the village and the <seg rend="check">ground</seg> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>cuṭum</foreign></supplied>,<note>Probably an abbreviation for <foreign>cuṭu-kāṭum</foreign>.</note> and destroyed the courtyards of the temple, thieves stole the sacred idols <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tiru-v-urukkalum</foreign></supplied> and treasures from the glorious treasury of this god.

                <item>Since it was not possible <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>uṇṇāmai-y-ālum</foreign></supplied> to protect the glorious treasury and the gold  <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tiraviyam</foreign></supplied> from the thieves in the place where they had been kept,</item>
                <item>since some of the villagers need resources for the expenditures of the assembly <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>sabha-viniyōkattukku</foreign></supplied>,</item>
                <item>since there is need to repair the destruction of the courtyards, to make a new installation <supplied reason="subaudible">of the idols</supplied>, and to construct a wall,</item>

            the gold that we obtained from the temple officers of this god <supplied reason="subaudible">is</supplied>

                <item>fifty <foreign>kaḻañcu</foreign>s <gap reason="ellipsis"/> <seg rend="check"><supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>Arai māṟṟu-t tāḻum</foreign></supplied></seg> per gold coin <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>māṭai</foreign></supplied> of Rājēndracōḻa according to <foreign>kuṭiñaikkal</foreign> standard,</item>
                <item>twenty-five <foreign>kaḻañcu</foreign>s of gold that were released on the interests from these,</item>

            <supplied reason="subaudible">that is,</supplied> seventy-five <foreign>kaḻañcu</foreign>s.

            There are lands which <supplied reason="subaudible">we</supplied> have given, having made them tax-free as long as the moon and the sun endure, for the seventy <foreign>kaḻañcu</foreign>s of gold <supplied reason="subaudible">that remained</supplied> from the seventy-five <foreign>kaḻañcu</foreign>s <supplied reason="subaudible">that included</supplied> twenty-five <foreign>kaḻañcu</foreign>s of gold released on interests, after having removed <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>nīkki</foreign></supplied> five <foreign>kaḻañcu</foreign>s of gold that we had given on the 3rd <supplied reason="subaudible">regnal</supplied> year to repair the destruction of the courtyard and make the new installation <supplied reason="subaudible">of the deity</supplied>, that is:
