							(which we initially read <foreign>va</foreign>) is quite curious, and might need
							to be revised. Likewise, the akṣara we read as
							<foreign>bhai</foreign> does not
							have a regular shape, and the serif seems very
							faint. It could also be read as <foreign>gai</foreign>.</note></app><app loc="5–6"><lem>°eli<gap reason="illegible" quantity="1" unit="character"/><unclear>r</unclear><gap reason="illegible" quantity="1" unit="component"/>ya</lem><note>Our first reading of the vocalic marker
							attached to the <foreign>ra</foreign>
							was <foreign>-e</foreign>. However, if
							we take into consideration the fact that the
							visible element might not be the upper part of
							the <foreign>ra</foreign>, it is also
							possible to interpret it as a <foreign>ri</foreign>. There is also
							what remains of a vocalic mark on the preceding
							akṣara, which could as well be interpreted as an
							<foreign>-i</foreign>. Therefore,
							in light of the parallel with EIAD <ref target="DHARMA_INSEIAD00051.xml">51</ref>, l. 11, reading <foreign xml:lang="pra-Latn">mahādeviya
									koda°elisiriya</foreign>, it is possible to
							suggest a reconstruction <foreign xml:lang="pra-Latn">°eli<supplied reason="lost">s</supplied><unclear>ir</unclear><supplied reason="lost">i</supplied>ya</foreign>.</note></app></listApp></div><div type="translation"><p>The Great General Sūkacata <foreign xml:lang="pra-Latn">sacabhaiya</foreign> Eli…</p><p>The group of relatives, Eli…, son of Kaṇṇasirī...</p><p>Elicata established (this) Buddha image at Vairamaḍuva.</p></div><div type="commentary"><p n="2–3"><note>In EIAD <ref target="DHARMA_INSEIAD00029.xml">29</ref> we
								have interpreted <foreign xml:lang="pra-Latn">vaira</foreign> as <foreign xml:lang="pra-Latn">vajira</foreign>;
									<foreign xml:lang="pra-Latn">maḍuva</foreign> could here stand for
									<foreign xml:lang="san-Latn">maṇḍapa</foreign>.</note><!--Previous notes, to be elaborated upon: There are a few
