           <p rend="stanza" n="1">Le dieu qui pénètre partout, auquel nul n'est pareil dans les trois mondes, qui est doué d'une gloire majestueuse, qu'adorent, dans sa caverne de l'Himālaya, tous les autres dieux, les troupes des démons et les nymphes célestes, de même que les génies et les sages doués de la puissance illimitée que leur confère leur fois <supplied reason="subaudible">en Śiva</supplied> purifiée par le <foreign>yoga</foreign>, ce dieu-là qui efface les péchés et les malheurs des êtres donne aux hommes la félicité.</p>

Ai-je bien fait ?-->La faveur du pollen de ces lotus qui sont les deux pieds du dieu Śrīśāna Hara a procuré à la cité de Campā une abondance incomparable de félicités, de beautés et de délices sans nombre.</p>
           <p rend="stanza" n="3">Dans cette cité règne, pour le bonheur des vertueux, le roi Śrī Jaya Indravarman, entouré de la multitude de ses guerriers, telle la lune avec son cortège d'étoiles. Par sa puissance éclatante il assure la paix du monde entier, lui qui est la source de toutes les bonne œuvres ; puisse-t-il, en abaissant sur eux son doux regard, accorder sa protection puissante à ses sujets, lui qui les éveille à l'intelligence !</p>
           <p rend="stanza" n="4">Il a un ministre, très habile dans la connaissance de toutes les qualités du Seigneur <supplied reason="subaudible">Śiva</supplied>, zélé dans la recherche de tous les mérites religieux qu'il pourrait accomplir ; menant à bonne fin de nombreuses œuvres pies, il s'est créé une âme de <foreign>muni</foreign>, ce magnanime, le délice du pays. D'un aspect doux comme celui de la pleine lune, c'est qu'invoquent les hommes de bien ; il a en partage la gloire, la science révélée et la félicité. Savant, ses louanges sont chantées dans les assemblées des savants et par des techniciens de l'éloge jusqu'aux confins du monde.</p>
           <p rend="stanza" n="5">Le seigneur Danāy Pināṅ, un des Grands du Campā, expert dans les rites et la connaissance de Śiva, se livrant au <foreign>yoga</foreign>, au <foreign>dhyāna</foreign> et au <foreign>samādhi</foreign> dans le désir de gagner pour son salut le paradis de Śiva, se souvenant que notre corps n'a plus de durée qu'un flocon d'écume ballotté sur la mer, a érigé cette grande construction religieuse en faisant le vœu que lui et ses parents puissent être sauvés de l'océan des existences.</p>
           <p n="A12-B8">Si les champs, les vaches, les esclaves mâles et femelles, les buffles, etc., de même que les grains, le riz, les robes, l'argent, l'or, le bronze et les autres biens donnés par moi, le seigneur de Śrī Amarendrapura, sont enlevés de force par les hommes, soit par l'appât du gain, soit par simple perversité, que ces misérables-là tombent, avec toute la lignée de leur mère jusqu'au troisième degré, dans l'épouvantable Grand Enfer rempli des langues ardentes de son feu terrible. Que par contre les hommes de bien qui, soucieux de leur bien-être dans l'autre monde, protègent ma fondation pieuse et n'y enlèvent rien, obtiennent le fruit du ciel jusqu'à la consommation des siècle.</p>
           <p n="B8-B14">Que le Chien Noir, le Chien Blanc, le Chien Rouge et le Chien Bigarré viennent hanter la mère de l'homme qui encourra cette malédiction ! Écrit à l'époque où l'on avait achevé de compter quatre <supplied reason="subaudible">dizaines</supplied> et Huit <supplied reason="subaudible">centaines</supplied> dans l'ère <foreign>śaka</foreign> <supplied reason="explanation">919-920 après J.-C.</supplied>.</p>
