<p><bibl><ptr target="bib:Damais1955_01"/><citedRange unit="page">169</citedRange></bibl> suggested that this charter might be what he called a <foreign>copie conforme</foreign>, i.e., a copy made some time after the date inscribed in the charter. This, he proposed, would help to explain the relatively high incidence of scribal error.</p>
