This manuscript is part of the Kabuyutan Ciburuy collection in Garut, West Java, Indonesia. It's unclear how long these manuscripts have been there, but based on their materials and content, there's a strong indication that these manuscripts date back to a period when Hinduism, Buddhism, and local beliefs were still the dominant faiths among the local community, specifically between the 15th and 18th centuries. Due to generations of custodial care, the manuscripts, stored in three chests and several small wooden boxes, have become disorganized. Consequently, the page order of the Jati Mula text is generally no longer sequential. However, this particular text can be visually identified by the unique style of its script, which distinguishes it from other manuscripts.
