# Coolify GitHub Repo Deployment
Deploy any GitHub repo to a self-hosted Coolify instance with full CI/CD control - no vendor lock-in, no cloud tax.
## Problem
Security firms building internal tools or client-facing apps get trapped in expensive PaaS pipelines (Heroku, Render, Railway). They pay per seat, per deployment, per compute hour. Worse, sensitive tooling sits on third-party infrastructure with limited visibility.
## Solution
Coolify acts as a self-hosted deployment platform. Connect a GitHub App to your repo, point it at a branch, and Coolify handles builds, restarts, and rollbacks from your own infrastructure.
Key steps:
- Create a GitHub App in Coolify and assign it to the target repo
- Set branch to `main`, commit SHA to `HEAD`
- Coolify manages the deployment lifecycle (redeploy, restart, stop)
- Live URL confirmed via browser after deployment runs green
## Use Cases
- Hosting internal security automation tools (alert triage, compliance dashboards)
- Deploying client-facing portals without exposing source on public PaaS
- Running MDR or GRC prototypes on isolated infrastructure
## Impact
- Zero dependency on third-party PaaS vendors
- Full deployment visibility and rollback control
- Reduces monthly cloud spend for small security teams
- Keeps sensitive tooling on owned infrastructure
