Privacy policy

Cutaway: How Things Work 3D (formerly Cutaway: 3D Objects) is an educational 3D app for exploring how everyday objects work. The core library, progress, quiz scores, saved parts, language, and appearance settings are stored on your device.
Information stored on your device
Cutaway does not require an account and does not send your library activity, saved parts, or quiz progress to our servers. These settings are kept locally so the app can remember your experience.
Advertising
The free version may show a banner below the object library and an interstitial after a completed quiz or a meaningful 3D viewing session. We use Google Mobile Ads to deliver these ads. The app requests non-personalized ads, but Google’s SDK may process device, app, network, advertising, diagnostic, impression, and interaction information as described in Google’s policies.
The app checks advertising consent using Google’s User Messaging Platform before requesting ads. Where required, you can revisit your choices through Ad privacy choices in Settings.
Learn more in Google’s partner-site privacy information. You can disable Cutaway’s banner and interstitial ads through the one-time Remove Ads purchase.
Purchases
Remove Ads is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details. The app stores a local entitlement after Google Play reports a completed purchase and can restore that entitlement from Google Play on a later launch.
Sharing and sale
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Cutaway for account profiling, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking. Information handled by Google’s advertising and billing services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Children
Cutaway is an educational app and does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us through the project issue tracker below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app’s features or third-party services change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated with any revision.
