# Ostvane privacy policy

Last updated 7 October 2026.

Ostvane is a browser extension that compares a job posting you have open with a resume stored on that device.

## What stays on the device

The resume, including text read from a TXT, PDF, or DOCX file, is saved in the browser’s local storage on that device. Saved comparisons stay there too, up to the 30 most recent. Uninstalling the extension or choosing Delete resume removes that local copy. Ostvane does not upload the resume to run Analyze Job.

The job title, company, location, and description are read from the open page when the side panel is open. That reading happens in the browser. Analyze Job runs there as well.

## What Ostvane does not do

Ostvane does not have an account in this version. It does not sell data, show ads, or use the resume or the job text for advertising. It does not apply to jobs for you. It does not send the page to an Ostvane server, because this version has no server connection in the side panel.

## Reports

Report a problem opens your email app with a message addressed to flowtopsy2026@gmail.com. The draft can include the page address, the job title and company, whether a description was found, the match score, and the requirement lines from that comparison. It does not include the resume. The message is sent only if you send it from your email app.
