# Specular Transmission We can make a light transmitted through an object. To do this, we use [specular_transmission](https://docs.rs/bevy/latest/bevy/pbr/struct.StandardMaterial.html#structfield.specular_transmission) in [StandardMaterial](https://docs.rs/bevy/latest/bevy/pbr/struct.StandardMaterial.html). ```rust commands.spawn(PbrBundle { material: materials.add(StandardMaterial { specular_transmission: 1., ..default() }), ..default() }); ``` This field [specular_transmission](https://docs.rs/bevy/latest/bevy/pbr/struct.StandardMaterial.html#structfield.specular_transmission) makes the object transparent. The value of [specular_transmission](https://docs.rs/bevy/latest/bevy/pbr/struct.StandardMaterial.html#structfield.specular_transmission) is between `0` and `1`. The larger the value, the more the transparency. In the following example, we create three cubes. From the left to right, their [specular_transmission](https://docs.rs/bevy/latest/bevy/pbr/struct.StandardMaterial.html#structfield.specular_transmission) are `0`, `0.8` and `1` respectively.
