# API Reference > **Status: public reference index.** This page indexes the public and > public-experimental API surfaces that exist in the current checkout. Package > status is defined by `tools/package-inventory.jsonc` and package manifests; > generated API data is committed as JSON and declaration snapshots. `docs/reference` does not currently contain generated per-package Markdown or HTML API pages. Until those pages exist, use the source files, package manifests, generated JSON metadata, and API snapshots linked below as the code-backed reference. ## Public TypeScript Packages | Package | Status | Public surface | Reference sources | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `@mog-sdk/sdk` | shipped public | Unified headless SDK. The root import resolves to native N-API in Node and WASM in Workers/web-standard runtimes; explicit `./node` and `./wasm` subpaths are available for hosts that need to force the binding. | `runtime/sdk/package.json`, `runtime/sdk/src/index.ts`, `runtime/sdk/src/wasm.ts`, `runtime/sdk/src/generated/api-spec.json`, `runtime/sdk/src/api-describe.ts`, `tools/api-snapshots/@mog-sdk__sdk.api.txt`, [SDK guide](../guides/sdk.md) | | `@mog-sdk/contracts` | shipped public | Contract and small runtime-value barrel for workbook/worksheet APIs, core cell types, events, rendering, document, SDK, security, app, and related contracts. The package inventory marks many subpaths as public-experimental. | `contracts/package.json`, `contracts/src/`, `types/api/src/api/`, `tools/contracts-runtime-inventory.json`, `tools/api-snapshots/@mog-sdk__contracts.api.txt` | | `@mog-sdk/sheet-view` | shipped public | Low-level browser sheet view package. It exports `createSheetView()`, `createSheetViewDataSourceFromWorkbook()`, skin helpers, and view/capability types from the package root only. | `views/sheet-view/package.json`, `views/sheet-view/src/index.ts`, `tools/api-snapshots/@mog-sdk__sheet-view.api.txt`, [SheetView guide](../guides/sheet-view.md) | | `@mog-sdk/embed` | shipped public package; API entrypoints public-experimental | Same-page browser sheet/view embed. Public entrypoints are the root web-component registration surface plus `@mog-sdk/embed/react`, `@mog-sdk/embed/web-component`, and `@mog-sdk/embed/config`. `./internal/views-host` is a workspace-private friend export and is stripped from public artifacts. | `runtime/embed/package.json`, `runtime/embed/src/index.ts`, `runtime/embed/src/react/index.tsx`, `runtime/embed/src/web-component/index.ts`, `runtime/embed/src/config.ts`, `tools/api-snapshots/@mog-sdk__embed.api.txt`, [Web Component guide](../guides/embed-web-component.md), [React guide](../guides/embed-react.md) | | `@mog-sdk/spreadsheet-app` | shipped public | Full spreadsheet app embed for trusted same-origin React hosts. Public exports include `createSpreadsheetRuntime()`, `MogSpreadsheetApp`, `mountSpreadsheetApp()`, and typed runtime/session/attachment contracts. CSS subpaths are public-experimental. | `runtime/spreadsheet-app/package.json`, `runtime/spreadsheet-app/src/index.tsx`, `runtime/spreadsheet-app/src/public-types.ts`, `tools/api-snapshots/@mog-sdk__spreadsheet-app.api.txt`, [Full app embed guide](../guides/spreadsheet-app-embed.md) | ## Runtime Wrapper Packages | Package | Status | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | | `@mog-sdk/wasm` | binary-wrapper | Browser WASM package for the Rust compute engine. It is used by browser runtime packages and exports the wasm-pack JavaScript module plus `./wasm`; it is not the high-level browser integration API. See `compute/wasm/npm/package.json`. | | `@mog-sdk/darwin-arm64`, `@mog-sdk/darwin-x64`, `@mog-sdk/linux-arm64-gnu`, `@mog-sdk/linux-arm64-musl`, `@mog-sdk/linux-x64-gnu`, `@mog-sdk/linux-x64-musl`, `@mog-sdk/win32-x64-msvc` | binary-wrapper | Optional native packages used by `@mog-sdk/sdk`. Install `@mog-sdk/sdk` rather than importing these packages directly. See `compute/napi/package.json` and `compute/napi/npm/*/package.json`. | ## Python Surface The Python SDK source in `compute/pyo3` is public-experimental. Its package name is `mog-sdk`, it imports as `mog`, and `pyproject.toml` marks it alpha. The generated Python surface metadata is `compute/pyo3/python/mog/_generated/api_surface.json`, and implementation dispositions are tracked in `compute/pyo3/python/mog/api_dispositions.json`. See the [Python SDK guide](../guides/python-sdk.md). ## Generated API Data | Artifact | Generated by | Current role | | --- | --- | --- | | `docs/generated/api-reference.json` | Root `pnpm generate:api-ref`, which runs `tools/generate-api-reference.ts` against `types/api/src/api` plus selected supporting type sources. | Machine-readable Workbook/Worksheet reference data with namespaced methods flattened as dotted names such as `ws.tables.add`. This is generated data, not package-level human docs. | | `runtime/sdk/src/generated/api-spec.json` and `runtime/sdk/src/generated/api-spec.schema.json` | `pnpm --filter @mog-sdk/sdk generate:api-spec`, which runs `runtime/sdk/scripts/generate-api-spec.ts`. | Rich SDK introspection metadata used by `@mog-sdk/sdk` exports `api` and `apiSpec`. It includes root methods, sub-API graph data, source locations, async model metadata, types, and number-format metadata. | | `tools/api-snapshots/*.api.txt` | `pnpm check:api-snapshots` / `tools/check-api-snapshots.mjs` after declaration artifacts exist. | Declaration snapshot guardrails for public and source-visible surfaces. The presence of `@mog-sdk__kernel.api.txt` does not make `@mog-sdk/kernel` a public package; the package inventory marks kernel workspace-internal. | ## Workspace-Internal and Reserved Surfaces - `@mog-sdk/kernel` is workspace-internal in the current inventory and package manifest. Public consumers should use `@mog-sdk/sdk`, `@mog-sdk/sheet-view`, `@mog-sdk/embed`, or `@mog-sdk/spreadsheet-app`. - `@mog/transport`, `@mog/*` implementation packages, `types/*`, `shell`, and app internals are not public setup paths. - Iframe embed, HTTP service, plugins, and self-hosting remain reserved or deployment-specific surfaces unless their guide page explicitly states otherwise. ## Conventions - Public TypeScript imports should come from package entrypoints listed in package manifests, not from `src/` files. - APIs marked `public-experimental` are source-visible or shipped through a public package but do not yet carry a long-term compatibility promise. - Deprecated APIs should be marked with `@deprecated` in declaration source and include migration guidance where available. - Async workbook and worksheet methods return promises. Synchronous properties, such as `wb.activeSheet`, are called out in the guides and generated metadata. For the package inventory, status vocabulary, and dependency direction, see [Package Structure](../architecture/os/packages.md).
