# Release Notes: Version 2.0

Version 2.0 of **auto-parse** introduces a modernized codebase and several new features.
The highlights include:

- Modern build powered by **esbuild**
- Distribution as both CommonJS and ES modules
- Bundled TypeScript declarations
- Parsing of `BigInt` and `Symbol`
- Extensible plugin API via `autoParse.use`
- Test suite migrated to Jest and executed with GitHub Actions
- New parsing options for controlling acceptable types, stripping characters and
  handling comma-separated numbers
