Work-Rest Balance ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how the Extension handles data.

## Data Collection

**Work-Rest Balance does NOT collect any personal information.**

The Extension does not:
- Collect personally identifiable information
- Track your browsing history
- Monitor your web activity
- Access the content of web pages you visit
- Transmit any data to external servers
- Use analytics or tracking tools

## Data Storage

The Extension stores only the following preferences **locally on your device**:

- **Break Interval**: The time between breaks (e.g., 30 minutes)
- **Break Duration**: The length of each break (e.g., 5 minutes)
- **Schedule State**: Whether automatic break scheduling is enabled or disabled
- **Stop After Next Break**: Whether to automatically disable the schedule after one break

All data is stored using Chrome's built-in storage API and remains on your device only.

## Data Usage

The locally stored preferences are used exclusively to:
- Schedule break reminders at your chosen intervals
- Display break overlays for your specified duration
- Remember your settings between browser sessions

## Data Sharing

**The Extension does NOT share any data with third parties.**

No information is:
- Transmitted to external servers
- Shared with the developer
- Sold or transferred to third parties
- Used for advertising or marketing purposes

## Permissions Explanation

The Extension requires the following permissions to function:

### Alarms Permission
Used to schedule recurring break reminders at your chosen intervals without requiring the Extension to run continuously.

### Storage Permission
Used to save your break preferences locally on your device so they persist between browser sessions.

### Tabs Permission
Used to display the break overlay across all your active tabs when a break begins. The Extension does not read, access, or collect the content of your tabs.

### Host Permissions (<all_urls>)
Required to inject the break overlay interface on any website you're viewing. The Extension only displays a break screen overlay and does not access, read, or collect any data from the websites you visit.

## Data Deletion

All data stored by the Extension can be deleted by:
1. Uninstalling the Extension from your browser
2. Clearing your browser's extension data
3. Using Chrome's "Clear browsing data" feature and selecting "Hosted app data"

## Changes to Privacy Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the "Last Updated" date at the top will be changed. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
