# Code of Conduct

mq-dir uses the Contributor Covenant 2.1 as its conduct baseline. The project
is small and maintainer-led, so the practical rule is simple: keep discussion
technical, specific, and respectful.

## Expected behavior

- Assume good intent, but focus reviews on observable code, docs, behavior, and
  tradeoffs.
- Give actionable feedback. Explain the risk or user impact when asking for a
  change.
- Respect maintainership decisions about scope. mq-dir is personal-use-first
  software and intentionally avoids broad platform or feature sprawl.
- Use inclusive language and avoid personal attacks, harassment, insults,
  trolling, or sexualized content.

## Unacceptable behavior

- Harassment, threats, stalking, doxxing, or sustained unwanted attention.
- Discriminatory language or conduct based on identity, background, or
  experience level.
- Public disclosure of private security reports before coordinated disclosure.
- Repeatedly relitigating rejected scope after a maintainer has closed the
  decision.

## Enforcement

Maintainers may edit or delete comments, close issues or pull requests, block
accounts, or ban contributors when behavior undermines a productive project
environment.

For private conduct reports, email the maintainer listed in `SECURITY.md`.
Include links, screenshots, or logs where possible. Reports are handled
confidentially and with proportionate action.
