# Hermitsh Texts MCP

Search complete classical and world-literature corpora, retrieve exact passages,
and cite stable source links from any MCP-compatible AI assistant.

Hermitsh Texts is free, read-only, and requires no account or API key.

Clients that support remote Streamable HTTP MCP servers should connect directly:

You can also start the bridge directly:

The package is a narrow STDIO bridge to the public, canonical endpoint at
`https://hermitsh.ai/mcp`. Corpus content and tool behavior are served by
Hermitsh Press, so improvements become available without reinstalling the
package.

## What agents can do

- Search complete author corpora by word, phrase, or topic.
- Retrieve exact passages with stable links.
- Build source packs for evidence-grounded answers.
- Get work context, parallel passages, cross-references, and allusions.
- Search letters and Greek phrases where supported.
- Format citations without inventing references.

Every returned passage includes a source URL. AI assistants should link the
passage whenever quoting it or relying on it as evidence.
