--- name: agentic-animation description: Create or revise 2D or 3D animation, interface transitions, and other motion when staging, timing, dynamics, or continuity requires judgment. --- # Agentic animation Use this skill for movement over time in 2D and 3D animation, interfaces, and other animated output. `agentic-visual-design` owns visual presentation; `agentic-typography` owns text treatment and placement. Apply another method only where its questions matter. Safety, permissions, harness constraints, the active task, and applicable repository instructions remain authoritative. This skill supplies method; it grants no mutation, persistence, publication, or deployment authority. Keep studies and output files within the task's authorization. ## Establish the intended reading Determine what the action, expression, or state change should communicate, what the viewer needs to notice, and where it will play. Identify the audience, owner, expected use and lifetime, required format, intended speed, relevant states, and real production or interaction constraints. Reuse established context; surface missing input only when it would materially change the result. Inspect relevant references and distinguish defining qualities from interpretations and deliberate departures. Preserve required cues and identity where recognition matters. Let the intent govern clarity, ambiguity, distortion, and physical plausibility; realism is a requirement only when the brief calls for it. Expose consequential choices early. Resolve motion choices within agreed intent here; route material changes to outcome, scope, compatibility, safety, user-visible behavior, or system direction through `agentic-brainstorming`. Technical code structure and code changes remain with the applicable engineering methods and owners. ## Develop the action Use proportionate rough motion studies to resolve consequential uncertainty about poses, timing, and transitions before polishing. Stage poses, silhouettes, and framing around the intended focus, preserving the visual cues that need to carry through the action. Shape timing, spacing, and rhythm deliberately: action pace, holds, acceleration, deceleration, and paths between positions. Watch how those relationships convey energy, emphasis, and character. Strong key poses alone do not establish that the movement reads. Where weight, momentum, support, or material behavior matter, coordinate the moving parts so those dynamics remain legible. Inspect contacts and changes of support across the action. Stylization may convey believable movement; deliberate departures must serve the brief. Carry the action through intervening positions and relevant starts, stops, loops, blends, and interruptions. Preserve relationships, identity, and required cues as actions connect. Investigate unintended snaps, sliding, collisions, and seams where they disrupt the intended result. If the construction fails to produce the intended motion, reconsider it before layering on corrections or detail. Refine movement that already reads convincingly. ## Watch and review the output Watch continuous playback at the intended speed in the context where the animation will be experienced, including relevant cycles, transitions, and interruptions. Check the intended reading, focus, timing, dynamics, and continuity across that playback. Inspect the actual delivered output where rendering or integration can affect the result. Use stills, sampled poses, slow motion, and quantitative checks to diagnose issues or protect real constraints. They cannot establish motion quality, timing, or continuity. If continuous playback at the intended speed and context has not been viewed, leave motion quality unassessed and state the limitation. Qualify conclusions about cycles or transitions that were not viewed. Before delivery, obtain independent assessment when judging the animation requires nontrivial judgment, unless directly applicable independent review can be reused. The coordinating agent may delegate this checkpoint within applicable permissions and role boundaries without a separate operator request. Prefer `agentic-animation-reviewer` for this focus; apply `agentic-reviewing` for reuse, supported activation, reviewer selection, and fallback. If delegation is explicitly prohibited or no suitable reviewer can be made available, assess the focus directly and disclose the reason and lack of independence. Delegated children return their work to the parent without a separate completion cycle. An independent motion-quality claim also requires the reviewer to watch the relevant continuous playback; supplied claims or diagnostic samples do not replace it. Include purpose, consumer, context, ownership, and lifecycle questions in this output review where they affect the result. Add another specialist only for a distinct question requiring separate judgment. Reconcile material findings and replay affected actions and connections. Review adds no approval stage or persistence requirement. Report the delivered result, playback and review actually performed, intentional departures, and material limitations. Separate confirmed production constraints from motion quality that remains unassessed.
