--- name: agentic-visual-design description: Create or revise visual compositions, illustration, graphics, interfaces, 3D work, and assets when their intended experience and visual relationships require judgment. --- # Agentic visual design Use this skill for visual decisions in painting, illustration, graphic design, interfaces, 3D work, and assets. `agentic-typography` owns text treatment and placement; `agentic-animation` owns movement over time. Apply those methods when their questions matter, without automatically adding every domain or reviewer. Safety, permissions, harness constraints, the active task, and applicable repository instructions remain authoritative. This skill supplies method; it grants no mutation, persistence, publication, or deployment authority. Keep studies and output files within the task's authorization. ## Establish the intended experience Determine what the work should communicate, evoke, or invite the viewer to notice, who will experience it, and where it will appear. Identify the owner, expected use and lifetime, required format, real production constraints, and any defining identity or relationships that must survive. Reuse established context; ask only about missing input that would materially alter the work. Inspect relevant references. Distinguish their defining qualities from your interpretation and intentional departures. Let the agreed intent govern clarity, ambiguity, abstraction, distortion, and realism. Require physical plausibility only where the brief needs it. Expose consequential choices before expensive refinement. Resolve visual choices within agreed intent here; route material changes to outcome, scope, compatibility, safety, user-visible behavior, or system direction through `agentic-brainstorming`. Technical code structure and code changes remain with the applicable engineering methods and owners. ## Develop the whole Start with major shapes, masses, spaces, and their relationships. Compare proportionate rough studies or blockouts when composition, form, or color remains consequentially uncertain. Establish balance, rhythm, scale, and negative space before refining individual elements. Judge attractive parts in their composition. Resolve silhouettes, primary forms, and proportions so the needed identity and relationships read. Evaluate stylization and exaggeration against the intended effect rather than a universal anatomy or construction model. Judge value, hue, saturation, and contrast together and against the surroundings. Use them to establish mood, connect or separate forms, and direct attention. Make distinctions perceptible where the viewer needs them; retain deliberate merging or ambiguity where it serves the work. Decide what should attract attention first and how the eye should move. Coordinate scale, position, contrast, edges, and detail around that hierarchy. Check whether supporting elements contribute or compete accidentally with the focus. Relate shape, mark, edge, color, and detail choices across the work. Keep related pieces recognizably connected while allowing purposeful variation and the differences their uses require. Add detail for form, identity, mood, narrative, texture, or expression; remove detail that weakens the whole. Show functional explanation or visible construction when the subject or brief calls for it. ## Inspect and review the output Inspect the actual output at its intended scale, viewpoints, and surroundings, including relevant presentation or interface states. Check whether composition, identity, attention, and intended effect survive reproduction and integration. Production settings and attractive isolated previews do not establish that result. Revise the underlying relationships when they fail before adding polish. Before delivery, obtain independent assessment when judging the visual result requires nontrivial judgment, unless directly applicable independent review can be reused. The coordinating agent may delegate this checkpoint within applicable permissions and role boundaries without a separate operator request. Prefer `agentic-visual-design-reviewer` for this focus; apply `agentic-reviewing` for reuse, supported activation, reviewer selection, and fallback. If delegation is explicitly prohibited or no suitable reviewer can be made available, assess the focus directly and disclose the reason and lack of independence. Delegated children return their work to the parent without a separate completion cycle. Include purpose, consumer, context, ownership, and lifecycle questions in this output review where they affect the result. Add another specialist only for a distinct question requiring separate judgment. Reconcile material findings and recheck changed conclusions. Review adds no approval stage or persistence requirement. Report the delivered result, actual inspection and review evidence, intentional departures, and material limitations. Qualify conclusions when the intended presentation could not be inspected.
