WIT STARTER COMPANION — 2026.11.01-rc1
Prepared November 1, 2026. Versioned companion to the existing stable starter.

WHAT CHANGED
Bob's existing 2026.10.28.1 ordinary-chat module now works from one self-contained text file. A separate companion attachment is no longer needed for the basic task. Results use DONE, WAITING, UNKNOWN, NEXT ACTION and an honest save state. A complete copyable card supports manual handoff without promising automatic memory. Existing source-denial, current-user permission, privacy, reuse and stop rules are retained in the file itself.

MINIMUM SCOPE
Included: beginner guide, Bob text workflow, portable resume instructions, public catalogue/source links, MIT notice and scoped provenance. No executable engine is included or required.
Deferred: spreadsheet UI, automatic tool execution, cloud storage services, multi-user accounts, native skill installation, cross-AI memory, community intake and background automation. Their existing artifacts remain separate and unchanged.
The stable MOS-2026.10.12.1 package, its names/checksums and its release manifest are unchanged. This is an optional versioned companion, not a forced upgrade or a new master record.

COMPATIBILITY
An AI that can read the supplied plain text can attempt the conversational workflow. That is an instruction-format requirement, not universal model validation. Browsing, file reading, save/readback, later retrieval, code and external tools must each be checked on the actual host. No ChatGPT/Gemini/Android parity, native installation, automatic memory or authentication claim is made.

EVIDENCE LIMIT
The original Bob instructions had bounded structural and fictional text review. Changes in this candidate require their own review. Builder text scenarios and file/hash checks do not establish independent acceptance, real user adoption or fresh-context resume. Current observed evidence and unresolved gates travel separately in the private release handoff; do not publish that internal handoff.

RECOVERY / ROLLBACK
For ordinary use, stop the optional workflow and retain your own current task/card. Compare newer work before restoring a prior copy; never restore old permission or silently overwrite newer changes. This does not delete provider chat history.
For maintainers, preserve the existing stable starter and original 2026.10.28.1 companion. Publish only an explicitly approved version to the existing repository and starter page. If this companion is withdrawn, remove its active website/repository recommendation, keep a versioned withdrawal notice and point to the previously approved stable instructions. Do not overwrite a published asset in place or downgrade security checks silently. Verify the visible entry, download bytes and references after any rollback. No automatic rollback is implemented here.

RELEASE CONTROL
Possessing this file does not establish publication approval or independent acceptance. The official entry page identifies the version currently offered. Maintainers must obtain independent release acceptance and Ian's exact publication approval, then verify the live path and downloadable bytes. November 6 is a testing checkpoint, not automatic launch.
