# Privacy Policy **Sift - Photo Cleanup** **Last Updated: 3/3/2026** --- ## Overview Sift is a photo cleanup app that helps you organize your camera roll by swiping through photos and deciding which to keep and which to delete. This privacy policy explains how Sift handles your data. The short version: **Sift does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal data. Everything happens on your device.** --- ## Data Collection Sift does **not** collect any data. Specifically: - **No personal information** is collected (no name, email, phone number, or account) - **No usage analytics** are collected - **No crash reports** are sent to the developer - **No advertising identifiers** are used - **No cookies or tracking technologies** are used - **No network requests** are made by the app ## Photo Library Access Sift requests access to your photo library to display your photos for review and to delete photos you choose to remove. This access is managed entirely through Apple's PhotoKit framework. - Photos are **never copied, duplicated, or uploaded** anywhere - Sift works with photo identifiers (references), not photo file data - When you delete photos through Sift, the standard iOS deletion confirmation dialog is presented - Deleted photos go to the "Recently Deleted" album in the Photos app, where they can be recovered for 30 days (standard iOS behavior) ## Local Data Storage Sift stores a small amount of data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework: - **Reviewed photo identifiers** -- to avoid showing you the same photos repeatedly. These are Apple PhotoKit asset identifiers, not the photos themselves. - **Archived photo identifiers** -- references to photos you've marked for deletion but haven't confirmed yet. - **User preferences** -- your settings, streak count, and session statistics. - **Session history** -- basic counts of photos reviewed per session. This data is stored **only on your device**. It is never transmitted, synced, backed up to any server, or shared with anyone. ## Third-Party Services Sift does **not** use any third-party services, SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or cloud infrastructure. The app makes zero network connections. ## Data Sharing Sift does **not** share any data with any third party. There is no data to share. ## Data Retention All locally stored data remains on your device until you delete the app. Uninstalling Sift removes all associated data from your device. ## Children's Privacy Sift does not collect any data from any user, including children under 13. The app does not require or support account creation. ## Security Since Sift stores no data on servers and makes no network connections, there is no risk of server-side data breaches. All data is stored locally using Apple's secure on-device storage frameworks and is protected by your device's passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. ## Changes to This Policy If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date. Since Sift collects no data, changes are unlikely to be significant. ## Your Rights Since Sift collects no personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete.
