Privacy Policy for QR Buddy Last Updated: September 08, 2025 Developer: aiv.apps Thank you for using QR Buddy. Your privacy is critically important to us. This policy explains what information QR Buddy does and does not handle. 1. Data Collection QR Buddy is designed to respect your privacy. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data or the content you scan on any servers. 2. Data Processing and Storage All processing happens locally on your device. Camera Usage: If you grant camera permission, it is used solely for the purpose of scanning barcodes and QR codes. The camera feed is processed in real-time and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted. We do not use temporary files; all processing is done in the device's memory (RAM) and is discarded after decoding. Gallery Access: When you choose to select an image from your device, the Android system presents a standard document picker. QR Buddy never asks for, and does not have, general access to your photos or files. You are always in control of selecting the specific image you wish to decode. The app is only granted temporary access to the single image you explicitly choose, and this access is managed securely by the Android operating system. Saved Codes: If you choose to save the results of a scan, the data (e.g., the decoded text or URL) is stored only locally on your device in the app's private storage. This data is never sent to us or any third party. 3. Permissions QR Buddy requests only the permissions absolutely necessary for specific features. You can deny any permission and continue to use the core functionality of the app. Camera (Optional): This permission is requested only if you wish to use the live camera scanner. If you deny this permission, you cannot use the camera to scan codes. All other app features, including generating codes, managing your list, and decoding images from your gallery, will continue to work without any restrictions. Gallery/Photos Access: QR Buddy does not request any storage permissions. To decode images from your gallery, the app uses the standard Android system picker. You explicitly choose a single image to share with the app for decoding. The app is only granted access to that specific image you selected, and this access is managed securely by your device's operating system. 4. Saving Images (Creating Codes) QR Buddy allows you to generate and save QR code images to your device's gallery. This functionality does not require any special permissions. The Android system itself handles the process of saving the file to your public Pictures directory. The app only provides the image data to the system and requests that it be saved. 5. Third-Party Services QR Buddy does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app contains no third-party code that would collect data. 6. Changes to This Policy If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. 7.
