Fragmets of a slab of white marble veined with gray

The inscription was engraved in the upper left corner of the plaque. The left margin is flush, but the lines, as far as they can be restored, were of different lenght, three shorter lines followed by a longer one (54 cm in its present state) and ending with a gap of two letters

In this beautiful place may Elias be remembered, and Mary of Bostra, his wife, with all who love them.
