Jaffa, 4th-6th century CE. Tombstone. Funerary.

White-yellow limestone slab. Smoothed front and back, rough edges.

Letters are deeply incised, flowing and rounded. Alpha has a broken cross-bar, and the diagonal right stroke of alpha, delta and lambda is extended upwards and rounded. Kappa has curved legs. Cursive mu and xi, rounded omega and serifs.

Burial place of Ιakodes? son of Olympios the Alexandrian, of (the family of the) Kochadoi, 63 years old.

Lines 3-4: The adjective "Alexandrian" applies to the father. Lines 4-5: This family, the Kochadoi, had at least two burial chambers in the necropolis, in different tombs. See Jaff 0028.
