Galilee. Sepphoris, 400 CE - 500 CE. Mosaic. Dedicatory.

Black and white floor mosaic

Inscription stretches across the upper margin of a mosaic band, which features the Consecration of Aaron to the Service of the Tabernacle and the Daily Offering. The panel also contans Hebrew inscriptions that label the various figures and have no connection with the Greek inscription, which has a dedicatory character like most of the others. The central part of the band is missing, as is the middle of the Greek text. The lefthand part is also badly damaged. 400 CE - 500 CE Galilee Sepphoris Synagogue
