ΑΒΡΑΜΗΟΣ ΖΑΡΟΥΘΑ

Ἀβραάμηος Σαρουθα

Abraameos, Sarutha

Note the beautiful long-horned animal on the right. It is tempting to suggest a connection between the name of the man (and for that matter, perhaps of the woman as well) and the animal. The man's name is certainly Ἀβραάμος. I could however find no parallel for the woman's name, which certainly comes from Σάρα. Possibly a Jewish inscription, and the absence of a cross might be significant.
