## Problem

A contractor or field-service operator needs a consistent estimate or planning range from scope, measurements and job costs, with transparent cost build-up, true gross-margin math, uncertainty and commercial lineage.

## Inputs

For public read-only preview: caller-supplied labor hours/rate, materials, equipment, disposal, subcontractor, travel, other direct cost, overhead, contingency, target gross margin, tax and optional uncertainty/site-verification flags. Authenticated workspace also supports service scope, measurements, private company defaults, reusable costs, photos and commercial lineage.

## Outputs

Estimated cost, sell price or range, confidence, assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, warnings and site-review state, with revision and proposal lineage downstream.

## Pricing

No approved public self-service subscription or machine-call price is advertised yet. The read-only planning preview has no checkout or payment side effect.

## Invocation and authority

LIVE VERIFIED PLATFORM HTTPS + MCP: the no-account read-only estimate preview is live; Machine Commerce MCP exposes calculate_contractor_estimate_preview and verify_contractor_estimate_receipt. EPS emits a SHA-256 calculation receipt and a deployed receipt verifier independently recomputes the canonical payload; live HTTP and MCP canaries returned verified=true with authority limited to integrity_only and identity_verified=false. Browser continuation carries receipt lineage into saved estimates. Private workspace company settings, overrides, cost library, estimates, revisions, proposals, acceptance receipts, change orders, job handoff and calibration now route through an authenticated entitlement-aware data gateway while preserving user-scoped legacy provider RLS. Rough estimate generation does not authorize sending a proposal, accepting work, charging a customer or creating a customer obligation. The public preview is arithmetic-only and can run without a human UI. Customer self-service typed-name acceptance in the authenticated commercial workflow records the web event against the saved proposal snapshot but is not independent identity verification.

Payment authority: Stripe subscription control plane is build verified, but the EPS runtime currently has no STRIPE_SECRET_KEY, EPS_STRIPE_PRICE_ID or EPS_STRIPE_WEBHOOK_SECRET configured. Checkout therefore remains unavailable and no public price is approved.

Discovery does not create a payment obligation. Human confirmation is required before checkout where checkout exists. Checkout creation is not proof of payment.
