# Permission for independent plugins

In addition to the permissions in Kiosk Satellite's CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license, Xavier Larrea grants the following permission for the Kiosk Satellite material he owns:

You may develop, run, reproduce, modify and distribute independent plugins that communicate with an unmodified Kiosk Satellite application through its published plugin SDK. You may distribute those plugins under your chosen license, including a license that permits commercial distribution.

An independent plugin is a separately distributed module that uses the published SDK and does not include Kiosk Satellite application implementation code. SDK code and examples are excluded from this restriction where their separate license permits copying them.

This permission does not authorize commercial use of the Kiosk Satellite application, distribution of modified Kiosk Satellite application builds or copying application implementation code into a plugin. The application's existing license continues to apply to those activities. Selling a plugin does not grant the purchaser commercial use rights to Kiosk Satellite.

This permission does not change the licenses of third-party material or grant trademark rights. Plugin authors must comply with the licenses of their dependencies and any code they reuse.

The SDK interfaces under `app/android/app/src/main/java/me/jxl/kiosk/plugins/` are separately licensed under Apache-2.0. Their license is included in that directory. The SDK, examples and tooling published in the Kiosk Satellite Plugins repository use that repository's stated licenses.
