# Privacy Policy — Personal Vault **Effective date:** 2026-01-29 **Last updated:** 2026-01-29 This Privacy Policy explains how **Personal Vault** (the “App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the App. ## 1. Overview (No Data Collected) Personal Vault is designed to operate **fully offline**. We do **not** collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. The App does not require accounts, does not run a backend, and does not send your vault content to any servers operated by us. **In short:** your vault content stays on your device. ## 2. Scope This Privacy Policy applies to: - The Personal Vault mobile application. It does not apply to third-party services you may use independently (for example, your device’s operating system, cloud backup providers, or app stores). ## 3. Information We Collect ### 3.1. Data you create in the App (Vault Content) Vault content may include text notes, images, and documents (such as PDFs) that you choose to store in the App. **We do not collect, access, or transmit your vault content.** Vault content is stored locally on your device. ### 3.2. Analytics, tracking, advertising identifiers The App does **not** use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, tracking technologies, or profiling. ### 3.3. Crash reports and diagnostics We do **not** operate our own crash reporting or diagnostic data collection. > Note: Your device or platform provider (e.g., Android/Google) may collect system-level diagnostics according to their own policies. We do not control those processes. ## 4. How Your Data Is Stored and Protected ### 4.1. On-device storage Vault content is stored **locally on your device**. ### 4.2. Encryption and access control The App is intended to protect access to vault content using: - A **PIN** you set in the App, and/or - **Biometric authentication** provided by your device (if enabled by you). Vault content is intended to be stored in an encrypted form on-device. However, **no security measure is perfect**. The security of your information also depends on your device security (screen lock, malware protection), your operating system, and your own choices. ### 4.3. Important security limitations (disclaimers) To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: - We are **not responsible** for unauthorized access caused by factors outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to lost/stolen devices, compromised operating systems, malware, rooting/jailbreaking, weak device passcodes, third-party apps, or user negligence. - You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your PIN and controlling physical access to your device. ## 5. Permissions the App May Request Depending on your usage and Android version, the App may request certain permissions to provide core functionality, such as: - **Biometric authentication**: to let you unlock the App with biometrics (optional). - **File/media access (Storage / Photos / Documents)**: to allow you to import images or documents into your vault and to export/share items when you choose to do so. We do not use these permissions to collect data. Permission-granted access is used **only** to perform actions you explicitly initiate inside the App. ## 6. Sharing of Information We do **not** share your personal data with third parties because we do **not** collect it. If you choose to export, share, or open a file from your vault using another app or service, that action is initiated by you and governed by the privacy practices of the third party you select. ## 7. Payments (Google Play Billing) If the App offers a one-time purchase through Google Play: - Payment processing is handled by **Google** (or the applicable app store provider). - We do **not** receive your full payment card information. - We do not collect or store your payment credentials. The app store provider may process personal data in connection with your purchase under their own privacy policy and terms. ## 8. Data Retention and Deletion Because all vault content is stored locally on your device: - You can delete vault items at any time within the App. - Uninstalling the App generally removes the App’s local data from your device. ### 8.1. Device backups Your device or operating system may offer backup features (e.g., Android system backup, device-to-device transfer, or third-party backup apps). If enabled, these features **may** copy some app data as part of a device backup. We do not control your device backup settings. To manage backup behavior, review your device settings and the documentation of your backup provider. ## 9. International Data Transfers We do not transfer your personal data internationally because we do not collect or process it on our servers. ## 10. Children’s Privacy The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) without parental or guardian supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can address the concern (note that the App does not have user accounts and does not transmit vault content to us). ## 11. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. We will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy to the extent permitted by applicable law. ## 12.
