# Don't tell people 'money isn't everything' until they're financially stable

## Claim
You can only optimize for culture, growth and everything else after your life is financially stable. Until then, all the 'money isn't everything' talk is just noise.

## Mechanism
Maslow's hierarchy applies to career advice: people need their basics covered before they can care about softer things. Telling someone to focus on growth over salary before they're stable is compensation gaslighting.
