/** * file: journal_karbytes_19april2026_p0.txt * type: plain-text * date: 19_APRIL_2026 * author: karbytes * license: PUBLIC_DOMAIN */ Throughout the karbytes blog thus far, I have made an effort to promote the idea that I (unconditionally) endorse egalitarianism (and I define egalitarianism as being the prioritization of each person (i.e. human-level sentient individual) being equally important to every other person who ever exists (whether that person is currently alive, deceased, or yet to be born)). Although I (to a limited extent) idealize society being egalitarian and me also thinking and behaving in an egalitarian manner, I think it is more honest for me to admit that I think that I am almost always going to prioritize my own welfare and agenda over that of any other person. Hence, I do not promise to ever make personal sacrifices in order to benefit other persons at my expense. I understand that my lack of eagerness or willingness to prioritize persons other than myself above myself could be detrimental to me socially (and hence economically). If I am not willing to help persons other than myself at my expense, then I assume that I am significantly less likely to be invested in, favored, and respected by persons other than myself (and I define respect as the deliberate non-encroachment upon a person's autonomy and well-being). * * * Relevant Web Page: https://karbytesforlifeblog.wordpress.com/karbytes_ontology/
