# Licensing

Mac.apk is copyright (c) 2026 Kaleb Simpson / Voltare, and it is dual-licensed.

## The AGPL (free)

The source in this repository is licensed under the
[GNU Affero General Public License v3.0](LICENSE). You can use, study, modify and
share Mac.apk for any purpose, including commercial ones, as long as you follow the
AGPL. In short: if you distribute Mac.apk or a modified version of it, or let people
use a modified version over a network, you have to give them the complete source of
your version under the AGPL too, and keep the copyright and license notices intact.

## A commercial license (paid)

If you want to ship, bundle, embed or offer Mac.apk, or something built on it, without
the AGPL's obligations (for example inside a closed-source product or a paid service),
you need a commercial license. Email **Kaleb@voltare.us** with what you have in mind.

## Contributions

Contributors sign the [Contributor License Agreement](CLA.md) once, on their first
pull request. It lets the project keep offering both licenses with your work included.
You keep the copyright to what you wrote.

## Name and logo

The licenses cover the code, not the Mac.apk name or logo. See [TRADEMARKS.md](TRADEMARKS.md).

## Third-party components

Mac.apk bundles open-source components under their own licenses. The full notices are
in [THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt](THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt).
