Windows Giving the Squeeze
A possible defect in some of Tesla’s window automatic reversal systems has resulted in a recall of 1.1 million vehicles. The recalled vehicles consist of various models from 2017 through 2022.
Tesla employees reported that the window automatic reversal system showed abnormal variations in its response to pinch detection. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that the recalled vehicles’ window automatic reversal system did not meet the standards of federal motor vehicle safety.
Tesla implemented a software update on vehicles in production that reset the power-operated windows back to the standard requirements.
Telling it like it is - It seems like power-operated window operations are more complicated than rocket science…right, Elon?

Reserve Now by OEMs
Taking a page out of Ford Motor’s book, General Motors has said reservations are closed after having 90,000 GMC Hummer pickups and Hummer SUV reservations that continue through 2024. The goal of pausing reservations is to allow time to complete all current orders before their official SUV rollout in 2023.
The global head of GMC stated that while this year has been a slow rollout for their EV’s, we can expect to see a bigger year in 2023.
Telling it like it is - 200,000 reservations from Ford + 90,000 reservations from GMC…it's almost like consumers have some kind of weird backlog of demand for vehicles. Wonder why?

Ford’s Plan for Restructuring
Ford Motor’s stock had its worst day since 2011 after an expected additional $1 billion dollars in supplier costs in the 3rd quarter, alone. Ford has said a restructuring of their global supply chain is in the works following the announcement of additional supplier costs.
The restructuring will aim to increase “efficient and reliable souring,” along with development of internal tech and execution.
Ford assured that this restructuring is simply an acceleration of Jim Farley’s plan for company growth.
Telling it like it is - It’s not the first time we’ve seen a company call a significant crisis an “acceleration” of their original plan.

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Unbiased AI Detects Brain Disorders
A recent study showed the ability of an AI to detect causes in Alzheimer’s Disease and other cognitive impairments and disorders.
Previous methods of detecting cognitive impairment in brain tissue were outdone by a new method using unbiased AI. The AI was able to detect microscopic abnormalities in the brain tissue that are able to predict cognitive impairment.
Telling it like it is: If we can trust AI with our brains, we should definitely be able to trust AI with our customers!
