Toyota Issues Recall For Glitch
Toyota will recall ~460K vehicles to fix a stability control glitch in the US. The automaker discovered that the individual wheel braking system does not automatically turn on when the car restarts. The software-based issue can disable the stability control system inadvertently.
Which cars need fixin'? Notifications will go out to owners in mid-June. Dealers will be able to update the skid control computer to resolve the issue. The recall covers vehicles from 2020 to 2022, including Venza, Mirai, RAV4 Hybrid, RAV4 Prime, Sienna Hybrid, and Highlander Hybrid from Toyota and LS500h, LX600, NX350h, and NX450h-plus from Lexus.

Volkswagen Q1 Profits Rise
VW Group announced Q1 profits jumped to 13.5% from 7.7% in the same quarter of 2021. The company reported $9.3B in profit but a 16% decline in share value since the beginning of the year.
Raw value. Surging raw material prices played a significant part in the boost. The non-cash revaluation of commodity hedges like nickel shielded the company against volatile costs.
