# Privacy The Guard runtime makes no automatic external network requests. It has no telemetry, cloud service, transcript upload, or analytics endpoint. It runs locally. Both Skills are local instruction files; the host and model provider still determine how the model processes their content and the user's task. The optional `sts doctor --check-update` command sends one unauthenticated HTTPS request to the public GitHub Releases API only when the user invokes it. The request identifies this public repository and sends no prompt, transcript, runtime event, project path, code, or local configuration. The command returns the installed version, latest release tag, and GitHub release URL; it does not download or install an update. The plugin stores contract state and append-only runtime evidence in a host-owned data or configuration directory. Runtime events are metadata-only: event time, a derived session key, plugin/control revision, tool name, mutability, an optional classification reason from a fixed vocabulary, path count, boolean hash/dependency intent, bounded contract fields, the Guard decision, and the response returned to the host. Runtime events do not store prompts, tool inputs, commands, path text, code, diffs, tool output, model responses, or raw session identifiers. Manual labels (`correct`, `incorrect`, or `inconclusive`) are stored in a separate append-only annotation log. The most recent label is used for summaries; prior labels are not rewritten. Session state is separate from these metadata-only runtime events. It includes the explicit file boundary, delegation reservations, host action/agent IDs and aliases used for correlation, unresolved activity, and directive errors. An error can retain the invalid directive token. The last generated contract context is also retained to avoid repeated injection. These fields are not transcript logging, but they can contain user-supplied paths or directive text. Review session state before sharing the plugin data directory. The session filename is derived from the opaque host session identifier so that the identifier itself is not exposed as a path. This local derivation is not an anonymity or security claim. Runtime events report host effect as `unobserved`: a returned permission deny is not proof that the proposed action did not occur through another path. Removing the plugin does not necessarily remove host-owned plugin data. Users may delete that plugin data through their normal host data-management workflow.
